MUSIC LEPORELLO
6 JANUARY 2025

An assignment for my 2D class, we had to create a leporello design based on a 4 second sound from the music piece Einstein on the Beach, I chose the music part from 2:06:45 - 2:06:49.

Each shape references to a different beat in the sound. The chosen shape is based on the amount of beats you hear. It is split up in 3 layers. The triangle has 3 corners, representing the first beat. The square has 4 corners, meaning it takes more time to hit each corner for the beat compared to the triangle. So the square represents the slower beat. And lastly the circle which does not have any corners, this represent the constant sound in the background. Even though the beat has layers, it still blends together. That is why I made the edges of the shapes blurry to represent that the beats blend together. Since the sound is very chaotic, I added a line version of all the shapes to the background to add to it.

The sound is very funky but also mysterious to me. Therefore I made the background a darker colour to keep the mysterious side, but bright and playful colour gradients to keep the funky side.

I am currently open for commisions and creative collaborations!
